Mary J. Blige will receive Voice of Music Award

American singer Mary J. Blige, in addition to three premiums Grammy, received in February, 2007, will be noted by premium Voice of Music Award which awards the American society of authors, composers and publishers (ASCAP). The award will be handed over on June, 25th during 20-th annual ceremony of rewarding in the field of soul and R&B music.
The representatives of ASCAP emphasize that Mary Blige is not only “Queen of Hip-Hop Soul, but also a guiding light”. She was also named one of few singers who has dared to find and develop own musical style and she simply the embodiment of all that this premium defends. It was also mentioned that Mary’s music served as inspiration to women of all world.
The active of 36-year-old Blige, who has started her career 15 years ago, numbers seven albums. Last year release of the singer - plate The Breakthrough is one of number one albums. Except for premiums Grammy, the singer has been noted by American Music Awards, Billboard Music Awards and MTV Video Music Awards.
Earlier Garth Brooks, Kenny Chesney, Diane Warren and Jimmy Webb became owners of the premium Voice of Music Award.
